This piece was made to accompany the Oregon Origins project "Seven Wonders" premiere held at Reed College in Portland Oregon, May 19, 2023. The program included music for string quartet composed by Matthew Packwood and inspired by seven of Oregon's most beautiful geologic landscapes. The music was accompanied by an original dance piece by Makino Hayashi, followed by the story of the geology by Ian Madin.
This piece represents the Oregon Dunes, with sinuous shapes carved from a boulder of the sandstone that lies beneath the dunes.
