Core Strength

Columbia River Basalt collected in Biggs Junction, pivot mount on scrap steel. This is from the same lava flow as most of my other basalt pieces,  but is unusually dense and black. It breaks into interesting curved shapes which take a high polish. I smoothed and polished a few surfaces and used diamond brushes to get a high polish on the rough faces. I wasn’t thinking torso when I picked this up, but that is where it went.
